SEAT OF OUR SOUL

It is a well-established fact that when darkness falls, signals are sent from the retina, down the spinal cord, back through the neck and into the pineal gland, informing it that dark has fallen. This provokes the gland to secrete melatonin, and so we grow sleepy. However, there is widespread support for the view that this little gland does far more than control what time we go to bed…

“Long before there were clocks to mark the hours, calendars to count the days, or satellites spinning through space to track weather, we humans have relied on nature’s cues to know when to rest, work, play, and even mate.”-Abraham Regelson
Mystics named it the third eye. The ancient philosophers called it the “seat of our soul” the doctors of science call It the pineal gland.
The fact that this small gland lies at the exact centre of the brain, right behind the eyes, demonstrates its importance as the core of our mind and body. This largely unremarkable little ball of our living tissue, which is the equivalent of an internal timer, controls human activities and moods ranging from fatigue, growing, and sexual development, to exuberance and maternal instincts.

Drug treatments based on body rhythms (called chronotherapy) centre around the theory that the human body reacts differently to medicines as different times of the day. This theory used as it’s base, the fact that pain, nausea, depression, and a host of other feelings associated with illness, are all cyclical, and the pineal gland helps the body to adjust to deal with these cycles accordingly. Psychologists and doctors alike use this method to judge when to use different types of treatment. There is growing evidence that confirms that medication taken at times that fit in with the body’s rhythms, rather than the traditional 3 times a day, are far more effective.

Research in this area is constantly enhancing the credibility of these results, with studies being carried out in several different centers worldwide.
The belief in the potency of the role of the pineal gland is widely accepted, with many philosophers and spiritualists placing great value on this small organ. But although it may help trigger fertility in animals in time for mating season when spring arrives, humans are, however, fertile throughout the year, and yet there is a marked pattern that shows conception takes place largely in the spring time for humans too.
